Shilo’s Labradoodle puppies are 3 weeks old and destined for greatness on the Bellarine and beyond.

Born on 28 December, our last litter for 2022 was one we knew would be beautiful; handsome and well balanced in temperament. It is a repeat mating of between Amalie Shilo and Amalie Vagabond because their first puppies are shaping up to be amazing Australian Labradoodles – true to the intended breed standard which describes the Australian Labradoodle as

  • Extremely clever, sociable, comical and joyful. Energetic when free and quiet when handled. Should approach people in a happy, friendly manner. Keen and easy to train.
  • Should display an intuition about family members or handler’s current emotional state or needs. This ability to “know” is what has made the Australian Labradoodle an excellent dog for individuals with special needs.

Shilo’s first litter has some puppies training for therapy roles either to work in a school setting as a general learning support dog, or one-on-one as a support to a family with a child with special needs. The others in the litter are bringing joy to families as well and are much loved family companions. Watch this litter grow here on the Bellarine as we post regular photo updates.

UPDATE: Four of the gang have headed home and all reports are that they are adapting easily to their new environments. Key to that is to reinforce calm behaviours, plenty of time outside for toileting and minimal changes to diet. We have a flexible feeding routine 3 times a day so they  adjust to your routine  of breakfast, lunch and dinner. Each meal is hand-fed in the last 2 weeks to help with manners, training and name recognition.

Maple (Amalie Thaniel) is staying on with us for a month of intensive socialisation as he will take on a therapy companion role with his new owner in March.

Available – Amalie Tobiah (m) and Amalie Tamryn (f) – see our “Puppies Available” page for more details of how  one of these two lovely labradoodle puppies could be yours.
